Welcome to C.H.A.N.G.E.!

We’re glad you’re here. C.H.A.N.G.E. (Christian Homes Actively Networking for Godly Education) is a Christ‑centered homeschool community for families who want encouragement, enrichment, and connection while remaining committed to homeschooling at home. If you’re exploring co‑ops for the first time—or wondering if C.H.A.N.G.E. is the right fit for your family—this page will help you understand who we are and how to take the next step.

Who We Are

C.H.A.N.G.E. is a volunteer‑led Christian homeschool co‑op serving families with children from preschool through high school. C.H.A.N.G.E. does not endorse any particular approach to home education. Although there are a variety of curricula and methods of implementation, maintaining a spirit of unity is the primary goal, while still encouraging one another in each family’s approach to home education.

  • We meet weekly for enrichment classes, fellowship, and encouragement
  • Families use a wide variety of homeschool styles and curricula
  • We emphasize unity, service, and shared responsibility
  • Faith and Biblical worldview are central to all that we do

C.H.A.N.G.E. does not replace your homeschool—we exist to support and enrich what families are already doing at home.

What are the basic requirements for membership?

Participating families will:

  • Agree with our doctrinal statement
  • Have at least one child 5 years or older. The nursery and pre-school track is reserved for younger siblings only
  • Review and agree to our guidelines for membership
  • Register online during the registration window
  • Submit payment promptly upon receipt of registration confirmation e-mail from C.H.A.N.G.E. leadership

Is C.H.A.N.G.E. a Good Fit for Your Family?

C.H.A.N.G.E. may be a good fit if you are looking for:

  • A Christian community grounded in biblical truth
  • Enrichment classes taught by parents using their God‑given gifts
  • A co‑op where parents are actively involved, not just dropping off
  • Fellowship and encouragement for both children and moms
  • A supportive, volunteer‑driven environment

C.H.A.N.G.E. may not be the best fit if you are seeking:

  • A drop‑off program
  • A full academic replacement for homeschooling
  • Minimal parental involvement

We value clarity and honesty so families can make the best decision for their season of life.

What Does a Typical Co‑op Day Look Like?

  • Day: Fridays
  • Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
    (Optional lunch & clean‑up until approximately 1:00 p.m.)
  • Location: Olive Tree Congregation Prospect Heights, Illinois. We rent the classroom space and also have access to the gym most Fridays.

When you register you will select the appropriate age‑based track for each of your children and participate in a full morning of classes designed to encourage learning, creativity, physical activity, and fellowship—all within a Christ‑centered environment. Families arrive between 8:45-9AM. Our day starts off with 9AM prayer, followed by the pledge of allegiance, worship songs, devotional, and announcements. Children worship together and recite verses for memorization. We then split into separate age defined classes which are 30 or 60 minutes in length depending on how the schedule shakes out for that semester. All age groups have a gym class as well. Co-op ends at 12pm at which point we help clean up. Families choose to either leave for the day or fellowship and eat lunch together.

What Is Expected of Parents?

C.H.A.N.G.E. is a true co‑op—meaning everyone contributes.

All families are asked to:

  • Teach or assist in a class if their child is enrolled
  • Help with set‑up and clean‑up
  • Serve the group using their abilities and availability
  • Foster a spirit of unity, cooperation, and grace

We don’t expect perfection—just willingness and a servant’s heart. We’re thankful for a collaborative team of moms who prayerfully consider where to best serve. Roles are discussed and assigned ahead of each semester.
